Hi, my name is Nadia Batchelor, and I’m a graphic designer. I created this simulation to represent how I experience dyslexia. I wanted to visualize some of my struggles, such as phonological processing and rapid naming speed. For me, this means I have difficulty both identifying the sounds in words (phonological processing) and quickly recalling the names of familiar words (rapid naming). This simulation was created to highlight the importance of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related legislation that supports individuals with disabilities.
